The staff were attentive and helpful, but breakfast was a noisy, crowded mess. The serving time is only two hours, and the space is small, so there were long food lines and nowhere to sit. Being almost inside a hospital also means you hear sirens if you’re trying to rest during the day, though they stop after 8 pm. One other thing to know, reception isn’t open 24 hours.

Kanita is the reason our stay at Hotel Meksiko from 27 Dec - 02 Jan stood out. We had an early flight and needed a pickup at 6:30am, and she did everything she could to make sure the cab would get us to the airport on time. Earlier, our key card failed to open the room three times in a row. The receptionist just swapped the cards and didn’t take the problem seriously, but Kanita went up to our room on level 3 herself, found that the battery needed changing, and got it fixed right away. The hotel is on the outskirts of the old town and has only basic amenities, but our memorable stay was all thanks to Kanita. Thank you, and have a great 2026!

The hotel was generally clean, though there were no slippers or toothbrushes provided. It’s right by a hospital, and helicopter noise at night can be heard. A taxi to the city center costs about 5-6 euros.

Bugs were everywhere, even in the bed. Staff came in without permission and took my personal belongings. The manager didn’t seem interested and offered no apology. The hygiene problems and complete lack of professionalism make this a risk to guests’ health. Rating: 0/10, absolutely not recommended!

The front desk staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean. They let me have breakfast at 7am since my ride was due at 730, but breakfast turned awful when a kitchen staff member cursed at me in Slovenian, apparently not realizing I understood. I wouldn’t stay again.
