Farm Košir

The hosts were the brightest part of our stay. The couple who own the place were incredibly kind and attentive, and had plenty of good stories to share. It felt like being welcomed by distant relatives into their village home and its farming way of life. The house, its setting, and the whole atmosphere of an alpine village were wonderful too. I've stayed in a lot of places, and this is one of the best.

Breakfast was a treat, with everything local, and our hosts were so helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The rooms were spotless and much more spacious than the hotels in town. It's about a 10-minute walk to the centre, where there are lots of restaurants, cafes and shops. We really enjoyed our week here.

The breakfasts were amazing, with homemade jams, garden cucumbers, bread, cheese and cold cuts every day. While we were there, plums were in season, so we had plum cake one morning, along with a delicious vanilla rhubarb compote made from home-grown rhubarb. The yogurt from a local dairy was the best I've ever had. Gabriela sat with us while we ate, chatting and suggesting activities. Their daughter Vera showed me the chickens, cats and rabbit, and they even brought a fridge for our drinks when we asked. There's plenty of parking, and Gabriela met us outside when we arrived. Farm Kosir is family-run, and has been in her husband's family since the early 1900s. Ales made the breakfast room's woodwork and furniture from wood he cut on their property. The rooms were SPOTLESS. Gabriela used to be an OR nurse, and it shows in her attention to detail. Kranjska Gora was peaceful, and we could walk to everything we needed. We'll be back, and we'll stay at Farm Kosir again.

The place was peaceful, with a friendly owner and homemade breakfast. The toilet, kitchen and beds were neat, clean and nicely kept.
