Hotel Kranjska Gora

We arrived on time for a massage at 5:00 PM today, which we’d booked by phone with the hotel yesterday. Only then did we learn that an internal mistake had led to two appointments in the same slot, so they couldn’t give us our massage. They only spotted the problem when we got there and didn’t offer an adequate solution. We made the trip for nothing and wasted our time. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

Are the four stars on a 20-star scale? The place felt misleading and outdated, and I regret booking it. The walls had cracks and stains, the furniture was old, there was a smell, and even dead insects. The blankets were yellow and worn out. We specifically asked for a king-sized bed but got a twin room instead. Parking was advertised as included, then cost an extra 5 € per day. The pool was included, but the sauna was 14 € per person. Breakfast came with the stay, yet coffee with plant milk cost another 2 €. Why say these things are included if even basic options bring extra charges?

I regretted booking this place. Everything seemed to cost extra, even parking. We asked for a quiet room and ended up beside a staircase, where a youth sports team was loud until midnight every night. The room was old, with stained carpet and a bathroom that smelled a little, looked very old, and wasn’t really clean. One bathroom light was out, so it was really dark. Staff didn’t seem eager to help, and approaching them felt like being a burden. The waiter was overly stressed. Dinner was worse: staff seemed overwhelmed despite there not being many guests, and the food wasn’t even mediocre. Breakfast had a great variety, but seemed to have been made the night before, since the cheese already had dry edges.

The location is perfect, and the staff, especially Jadran, were great. Food was good too. The rooms are a little old, but that’s okay for the price. With the location and especially the staff, it’s perfect.
