The hotel was packed with tournament groups, so there could be a wait for the lift. Outside, the daily traffic made things a little noisy in the morning. My room was spacious, the bed was really comfortable, and breakfast was pleasant.

Rooms were quiet and clean, and the location puts you close to everything. Marija at reception is a top-class professional who set a great tone for the stay. Everything about this hotel was amazing. One of the best in the region. Thanks to all the Exe staff for such a wonderful experience!

The hotel is perfectly placed for walking into the centre. Beyond the location, though, I was disappointed for the star rating. Reception staff were polite, but when I asked for a firmer pillow or mattress, neither was available. At breakfast the tables were always full. I understand that many guests may eat at the same time, but when people finished, no waiter cleared the tables quickly enough, so we wandered around looking for a place to sit. The machine juices tasted diluted with water, more water than juice, which was disgusting for a hotel of this rating.

The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the city centre and twelve minutes from the train station. I was on the first floor, where the window opened, and the area was surprisingly quiet at night. My room was spacious for a big city, with room to leave my suitcase open and still move around comfortably. The bed was comfortable too. Breakfast was fine, with a fair choice for the price. I was there for three nights on a business trip. Ask for a renovated room if one is available. The older ones really aren’t recommended, with carpet, rain leaking through the window, and shower problems. The renovated room was fine, but I expected more amenities from a four-star hotel. There were no cosmetic tissues, and the only bin was in the toilet, not the bathroom. The bathroom isn’t fully separate. A thick curtain divides the shower from the sleeping area, and only the toilet has its own room. It makes the space feel airy and open, but could be uncomfortable for some. The paint was flaking off the light switches, and I found it annoying that the only main light switch was by the bed, not at the door. The evening bar staff were very unfriendly and seemed not to care. That was a big minus, as a guest should feel welcome.
