Guesthouse Koprivec

We could walk into the city center from this lovely little guesthouse. It was comfortable and very clean, and the family running it was just adorable!

The place is quite far from the center, and the host came across as rude and short-tempered. Communication was poor. Downstairs, there’s an old car wash and a café with an 80s feel; everything looked shabby, without any charm.

The area felt isolated from the city center, though there are buses nearby, and the price seemed high for what was provided. The rooms were clean enough and had the basic services, but during our three-night stay nobody made the beds or changed the towels. Wi-Fi only worked now and then, and breakfast wasn’t offered. Although the staff were friendly with us, it was hard to find someone available to help when problems came up.

We felt humiliated by how we were treated. After explaining what had happened the next day, the staff were very unpleasant and practically kicked us out. The night before, our Interrail trip through Europe had been delayed by a transport problem, so we arrived later than expected to find nobody at reception. A woman answered the intercom and said we couldn’t come in and rest. We were left wandering around a foreign country at night for hours until we found another place with rooms. Somehow, they still charged our credit card. We’d stayed at several hostels across Europe without any trouble before this. Do not book here.
