If you can be flexible about details, this is a good place for a convenient price, with a practical spot between transport and the city center. There's a spacious room with stylish decor, plus a rooftop common area with a castle view where you can relax and eat your own meals. But the cleaning needs work: stained sheets, splashes around the sink and a floor that could use a proper wash, so bring slippers. The bed was uneven and the pillows too big, giving me neck pain. There wasn't a kettle in the room, and the one in the common area didn't work properly. Bring instant coffee or get breakfast, since a latte costs €4.50. I'd describe it as better than a hostel, but not quite a hotel.

A staff member told us we couldn't stay in the 7th-floor bar because we weren't hotel guests. If that's the policy, it should have been explained politely. The person was rude, tense and aggressive, and I found the way they spoke to us unacceptable. We had checked out of ibis Styles the day before, leaving our bags in the luggage lockers to pick them up that evening, and went for a few drinks after collecting our suitcases. Because of this experience, I won't stay at your hotel again. I hope you don't keep employing staff with this kind of attitude. We were there between February 9-10.

The airport minibus dropped us right at the hotel, and it's still only a five-minute walk to central Ljubljana. Staff were friendly, and it was good value for money. My only issue was the translucent shower and toilet door. I stayed with my boyfriend, so it wasn't a problem, but it could be awkward with friends. The door looks more see-through in the photo than it is in real life, and you can't see the toilet as clearly.

The location was really convenient, with the station and main bus stand within walking distance and Ljubljana's old town about 7-8 minutes away on foot. We stayed four nights at ibis Styles Ljublana as a family of three with a young child. The room was clean and basic, with good bedding. The kitchen facilities in the common room behind reception came in handy.
