Hotel Medno

The polished entrance and lovely view made the hotel seem upscale at first, but our room was a letdown. The carpet was worn and in awful shape, the furniture looked dated and fragile, and one lamp didn’t work. There wasn’t even a proper shower door, so water ended up all over the floor each time. We paid 80 euros a night, even with a discount, and still got asked by the receptionist for an unexplained extra 6 euros that had never come up during booking or check-in. The owners seem to have put their effort into the lobby and neglected the rooms, which feel decades out of date. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want basic comfort, honest pricing, or decent value.

This is a pleasant little hotel, and the rooms are quite decent for the price. It sits in an odd spot with little around, so you’ll definitely need a car. Come for a room, though. Don’t count on breakfast, a bar, or much else.

The outdoor deck was a bright spot, with a great view, and the AC worked well. The room, though, smelled odd and the carpet didn’t look like it had been vacuumed recently. The shower was pretty gross and had no curtain, leaving the bathroom floor wet after I used it. We got just one small bath towel, no hand towels, and no tissues, only toilet paper. There’s no lift, so expect to carry suitcases up several flights. I chose this place because it was inexpensive and about a 20 drive from the airport. Still, I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to a friend.

Nice view, but the only food they serve is frozen pizza and wiener schnitzel.
