Turn Hostel

The hostel is clean and pleasant, including the rooms and bathrooms, and it's fairly close to both the city center and the train and bus stations. A few things felt odd to me. Check-in happens at the bar in the Irish pub downstairs. The kitchen has no stove and almost no cutlery, apart from plastic knives, so you're pretty much limited to buying ready-made food and keeping it in the fridge. There isn't much of a shared place to relax either, just a few spots to eat. At checkout, you have to leave between 7 and 10 in the morning, and they charge if you want to store your bags afterward, even when that time is still within the checkout window.

Everything was extremely clean, and it's really not a bad hostel. Just be aware there's no kitchen and almost no common space, so it gets very loud at night.

This was a terrible experience. I called and was told a room was available, then waited a long time. They later said reservations had to be made online. I booked, got confirmation, and was then told there were no rooms left. By that point I'd run out of time and ended up sleeping on the street.

The old town location is great, the design is beautiful, and everything was spotless. The beds are in good condition, and the people working in the pub below were really nice and helpful. I'd come back for a short stay, though maybe not a long one. There isn't a women's dorm, and the washroom is shared by men and women. The only place to change is beside a toilet. The common room is just the narrow hallway outside the dorms, with room for about four people. Still, you can head down to the pub, or join the pub crawl that starts there every summer night, so there are ways to meet people. One confusing thing was an older woman who lived in the dorms. She was often walking around in a nightgown and telling everyone how to behave and how the place worked. We couldn't tell whether she worked there.
