We stayed for a couple of nights over New Year because we couldn’t find anywhere else, but I really don’t recommend this place. The rooms are tiny, with dirty walls and sheets, and there’s barely room to move. It smelled bad enough that we had to open a window. The bathroom only had one towel, and there’s no proper shower tray, so water goes everywhere. The pipes are exposed, which makes it look as if water is coming out. It’s a 30-minute walk from the center, and the neighborhood felt creepy at night, with abandoned houses and hardly any lighting. There’s a code for entering the rooms, which is a good thing. When someone showed us to our room, porn was on the TV. We later found out there were free porn channels on the regular TV, and HBO was free too. The woman who checked us in was nice and spoke a bit of Spanish and English.

I booked here and arranged a check-in time. I arrived on time, messaged and called, but got no reply. Someone came up just after I’d canceled the reservation. He was nice, but it was too late. The place is a 20-minute walk from the city center, which didn’t work well for me. I can’t comment on the rooms.

There was mold on the walls, and sewage problems left a bad smell everywhere. I was too grossed out to sleep because I don’t think the sheets had been washed, and there was hair that wasn’t mine. I feel like a blacklight would make that bed shine. This place was the worst, and I will never come back. Please don’t book it thinking it’s a good place!

The owner was really friendly and helpful, but he didn’t speak English, so his roughly ten-year-old son had to translate. We got the good night’s sleep we needed with our six-month-old baby, then carried on our drive home the next day. The room was listed as an apartment, but it was just a room with three single beds and a TV. There was no kitchen, fridge, or wardrobe, though at least there was a bathroom. It was put together very amateurishly, with cracked tiles, exposed cables, and a sink cupboard that looked like a makeshift cover. It was one of the cheapest places in Maribor, and it showed. Even so, I’d expect a little better for €66 a night.
