The Slovenian food was delicious, with plenty of choice, and the tasting menu is a good way to explore the local cuisine. It’s a lovely spot near Ljubljana and makes a handy starting point for hikes. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and dogs are welcome too.

After a longer walk in the hills, this is a great place to stop. The service was superb, and the homemade cottage cheese štruklji were amazing, so tender and smooth that I enjoyed every bite. A proper local gostilna.

Good for a quick lunch after hiking up, though it’s also worth making the drive or booking a table for an event. They serve traditional food and even have a few vegetarian options. The service was kind and professional.

The young family who run it are super friendly. There’s a lovely view over Ljubljana, and it’s also the starting point for the walking trail up Sv. Jakob hill. The traditional local food was excellent.
