The bedroom was spacious enough for me and comfortable. Breakfast had a good range of cold food, with fewer hot options but still enough. Reception checked me in early because my room was ready, and the staff were friendly. They also kept my backpack so I could collect it later on checkout day. The location is good, about a 10-minute walk from Solkan railway station, and handy if you’re taking the train or visiting Mt. Sabotin. Gorizia castle and the main Square on the Italian side are much farther, about an hour on foot. I meant to try the restaurant, but although some people were eating at the bar and tables, I couldn’t find any staff. I waited a while around 6pm, then left. A couple of minor things: the TV doesn’t let you screen-share from your own devices, and the drinks machine was out of coca at breakfast.

The rooms were clean and warm, and the staff were mostly friendly. A nice hotel.

We only stopped at the cafeteria. Even with the rain, the covered outdoor part of the restaurant had a nice feel. The coffee was good, though the cakes were average. Some people nearby ordered sliced prosciutto, and it looked delicious. There’s a large car park in front of the hotel.

Hotel Sabotin has comfortable rooms and excellent food, and the area makes a good base for excursions. The picturesque cycling path along the Soča River is just 1 km away, and the nearby hills are great for a bit of time in nature. For something homemade and carefully prepared, the hotel restaurant has dishes made to order as well as tasty pizzas.

I got all my requests accommodated and slept peacefully in a comfortable bed. The pizza at the restaurant downstairs was great.
