The best part was visiting the owner’s family estate. We saw a rare 19th-century house, tasted wine, and heard about Cviček through an interesting presentation and documentary. The owner and his family were incredibly kind and welcoming. It made for an authentic, memorable experience, highly recommended. We also spent a wonderful weekend near Otočec in a beautiful holiday house, where the sauna and jacuzzi were perfect for relaxing.

The people were so friendly and welcoming, and the accommodation and atmosphere were just right. We had an amazing weekend getaway in the Dolenjska region. The landscape is beautiful, peaceful, and full of nature. A really relaxing place we’d gladly visit again 🌿✨😊

We could have stayed here for weeks. It’s such a peaceful place to unwind and enjoy some time to yourself, with Novo Mesto nearby for shopping and Ljubljana about a 50-minute drive away for a day out. The owner was friendly and helpful, and since he makes his own wine, he gave us a tasting and explained both winemaking and Slovenia. We could also buy wines from his own production, which felt special. Our renovated cottage was an old vineyard cottage, set among the vines and an orchard of fruit trees. It felt like being alone in a fairytale, with a breathtaking view of mountains and wooded hills. There’s a jacuzzi outside, a sauna, a well-equipped kitchen, a large comfortable bed, and a lovely flower-filled terrace. A wonderful place and experience. Highly recommended!

We’ll never forget Matjaž’s kind hospitality or our conversations while tasting his very good, distinctive wine. He’s a big-hearted host. The hilltop vineyard is authentic and romantic, far from the big cities, just the place to relax and enjoy the moment. Time seems to stop there. It’s one of the most beautiful places my wife and I have visited, and we hope to return.
