The hotel has a fun, convenient setup, with good dinner and a beach bar. The breakfast buffet was great too, with eggs, bread, meats and gluten-free bread. We were very happy with our stay, though the decor felt all over the place: motorcycles, bright red, celebrity photos and quotes, then a beach tiki bar and radios. It seemed like they hadn't settled on a theme. We went in late May, when the cabanas were uncovered. They said it wasn't in season, so there were no curtains, and people were making their own and trying to find shade. The place was busy, all the cabanas were occupied, and it was almost 90 degrees Fahrenheit. If that isn't season, I don't know what is. The location itself was awesome, right on the water and tucked away from the city centre, with only a short walk along the sea wall to Piran. A few changes would make the experience feel more cohesive.

The room was superb, and the service is the best on the coast. Breakfast felt a bit overrated and not quite enough for what it costs, though. Still, the location is a hidden pearl on the Slovenian coast, and the service is great.

The restaurant stood out, with a good selection of food and drinks, and the breakfast buffet was delicious with options for all tastes. Our room was spacious, tidy and clean, with a lovely view and a small but practical bathroom. Housekeeping kept it neat and came promptly each day. From arrival, the front desk staff were welcoming and helpful, and the modern, artfully decorated lobby made a great first impression. The hallways and carpet felt dated, and we were surprised by the 20 euro daily parking charge. The sauna costs extra, and the beach bar was closed while we were there. Laundry service was pricey, so we found it cheaper to walk into town and use the local laundromat. The staff were consistently friendly, and the wheelchair-friendly amenities were a nice touch. Despite those minor drawbacks, we had a lovely stay at Barbara Piran Beach Hotel and would recommend it. We might return.

Zan and Sandra looked after us from check-in, taking care of what we needed and suggesting activities. The whole stay went smoothly right through checkout. The food was great, our room was superb, and the beach area was beautiful, with an excellent beach bar. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. There was plenty of parking onsite, and lots of sun lounges. When we fancied a change from hotel food, the nearby cafe in the park next to the hotel had great pizza. We absolutely loved our stay. It was everything we expected and more.

We had a superior double room with a large terrace overlooking the lake and sea. The bathroom was outdated, but the staff were friendly. It's a real hidden gem by the water, well placed for a 20-minute walk to Piran or a 30-minute drive to Triest. Or just spend the day swimming in the sea.
