Villa Verde Boutique Hotel

Just right.

For a few nights, it was fine. The room was small but okay, and the area was quiet. You can walk to everything in Piran. Just know there’s a steep climb from the closest parking lot, so plan for that when you pack. The bathroom was otherwise fine, but our shower hadn’t been cleaned properly, especially the moldy seal on the door. There were also clear stains on the bedsheet, which you don’t want to find. The landlord knows about it, so hopefully the next guest won’t have the same issue.

Piran is easy to explore on foot from this charming boutique hotel, and the location is fantastic. They keep the complimentary coffee and snacks in the lobby topped up regularly. The rest of our room and bathroom were clean and attractive, and we felt comfortable during the stay. The value for money is excellent, so I can recommend it despite some cleanliness problems we reported to the owner. Our room was cozy but only mostly clean. There was visible mold in the shower, along the bathtub edges, and in the door seal. For a boutique hotel, and especially one in this price range, I find that absolutely unacceptable. The duvet was stained too, which was unpleasant on vacation and didn’t suggest good cleaning service.

We arrived as a group, but the staff split us up. Half stayed at this hotel while the others were sent to another property in the same chain. They told us it was 150 meters away, but it was actually 2 km. That place was a motel-style guesthouse with dorms and shared bathrooms. They’d also got the room count wrong and offered to move more people to yet another hotel. We refused because it was dirty, disorganized, and in a very dangerous area. Be careful when booking here, you could be in for surprises.
