Vila Barka - Sava Hotels & Resorts

We paid 170 EUR a night for two people plus the extra third bed, which was 30 EUR per night, and the place was still in awful condition for that price. “Villa” Barka looks like it hasn't been renovated in ages: dusty, worn out, and falling apart. The apartment feels straight out of the 70s. Its extra bed was really an ancient, dusty couch. The bathroom handle was barely attached, the doors were damaged by moisture, the “new” toilet seat didn't cover the toilet, and the taps were grimy. The corners hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. With carpet floors and tapestry on the bed and couch, I wouldn't consider it safe for someone with asthma. Getting to the apartment was unsettling too. The hallway is open to the public and has no lights, so you wander around hoping to find the right door. There was a loud party in neighboring apartments until late, but no one answered the reception phone or did anything about it. When we complained, we were offered a 15% discount, which still left us paying a ridiculous amount. They gave us unconvincing excuses, saying they could have found us a better room if we'd complained on the first day, even though we'd already been told everything was fully booked. They also said the place would be renovated soon. Charging a premium for this and treating guests this way is shameful. We'd never recommend staying at “Villa” Barka, not even to our worst enemies. Never again!
