1A Adventure Hostel

Booking canyoning through the hostel saved us money, and we had a great time doing it. We spent two nights here while interrailing through Slovenia. The service was friendly, and the beds and facilities were good. Breakfast was fine for the price, pretty much what you’d expect.

The staff were a highlight, especially Tadej and Aljaž, who were helpful, fun to talk with, and really accommodating. There’s lots of room in the bedrooms, the lockers have plenty of storage and don’t need a padlock, and the facilities were very clean. I also liked that they take a towel deposit instead of charging outright. The bar and lounge are nice, drinks are cheap, and breakfast is good. The free shuttle goes to and from Lake Bled. One small annoyance is having to press the shower button every ten seconds or so. Also, the nearby clock tower rings loudly for a long time early in the morning, though that’s outside the hostel’s control. A great base for visiting Bled.

The staff were friendly, and the kitchen has a nice setup: people leave behind plenty of food, so you can cook for free if you’re a little inventive. There’s a free shuttle to Bled once a day from 9, plus a nearby bus stop with trips to Bled for 1,5€ pp, Bohinj Lake for 4€ pp, and Ljubljana. You can arrange lots of activities at the hostel. We booked canyoning there, had so much fun, and paid less than we would have booking elsewhere. The whole place was very clean. A really good hostel.

I had a great stay. The receptionist with pink hair was especially kind and helpful, though I can’t remember her name. I’d highly recommend this place!
