Hotel Rimski Dvor

The rooms were very warm, with comfy beds, nice pillows, and wonderful toilets, but they felt outdated and we had lots of bugs in ours. When we called reception in the evening, they said there were no room attendants available to help, so we had to clean up and kill the bugs ourselves. We also found the service rather cold, with no smiles. Our Roman package included one spa entrance, but nobody explained that this meant one entry rather than access for the whole day. We nearly lost our chance to use it when we went in to use the toilets, and our key stopped working. The reception staff weren't very pleasant when we asked about it. After we explained that no one had clarified what “one entrance” meant, they gave us one more entry so we could stay a little longer. They should work on the service.

During dinner, the waiter wouldn't give us fresh mountain tap water. We were pushed to buy a 0.5 liter bottle for 5 euros. It felt like a rip-off.

The hotel feels outdated, and the lunch buffet was below average. We paid for an overnight stay with wellness, but they charged extra for towels, lemonade, and tea at the wellness area. My aroma massage was listed at 65 euros, yet reception charged me 81 euros at checkout. Taking extra money for things that should be included made it a waste of money.

The pool and spa were nice, and the location is lovely, surrounded by beautiful nature with convenient hiking nearby. Breakfast was plentiful, with lots of fresh-squeezed natural juices. I did find the room a little smaller than I expected for a 4* hotel.
