The setting is beautiful, the room was roomy, and the staff apart from one receptionist were kind. But we felt the price didn’t match what we got, and I can’t see why the reviews are so positive. We were traveling with our 2-year-old, noted that in the booking, and had asked for a baby bed. Still, they put us on the third floor in a building with no elevator. Breakfast meant going down a floor below reception, so it was four floors altogether. When we raised this with the receptionist who checked us in, she said we should have mentioned we had a small child, though it was already in the reservation. After we complained about the strong sewage smell in the room, she became unfriendly. The room had a neglected shower, stained toilet, no towel hooks, and an uncomfortable mattress setup. The beds left a gap when pushed together, so I lifted the sheets to put a blanket between them and found a broken piece of foam sitting on the mattress. Breakfast was a letdown too, with little choice, greasy eggs and terrible coffee. The 4-5 kinds of fruit were the one bright spot. The same receptionist tried to charge me for machine coffee, while another staff member gave it to me free on a different day.

The view was lovely, and the staff were friendly at both check-in and check-out. Breakfast tasted nice, and the food seemed fresh, but the breakfast room only has space for people from 5-6 rooms even though there are many more rooms in the place. Our second-floor room was large, but the bathroom and balcony were tiny. For a family room meant for four, the balcony had just three chairs and a very small drying rack. There were no coffee or tea facilities in the room. The apartment itself wasn’t very clean, including the kitchen, bathroom and floors, and even the coffee cups at breakfast. There was also a bad sewage smell in the room, which I’ve seen mentioned in other reviews. It was fine for a night or two, but I don’t really get all the rave reviews.

We had a clean, spacious room overlooking the lake, and everything was good. A really nice place with lovely staff.

The breakfast wasn’t a huge spread, but everything they had was delicious. The rooms looked recently updated and were nicely decorated, though the bathroom could use some work. The shower wouldn’t close, so the floor got messy, and the beds felt quite old and uncomfortable. We stayed in the deluxe apartment, with a heavenly view from each of its two balconies. The location was breathtaking and peaceful, about a 15-minute walk from the lake. Friendly staff and the setting made it a perfect short getaway.

Parking was roomy and easy to use. The apartment also had a basic kitchen, handy for making simple meals. Breakfast ran from 8-10 AM, though by 9 the choice was already pretty limited. What was there seemed fresh, and the desserts were a nice touch. The location was great, about five minutes on foot to a grocery store and another five to Bohinj lake. The walls are a little thin, so loud conversations from neighbors may carry.
