Guesthouse Sterk

We spent four days here and it felt like home. The river view was beautiful, the service was great, and the breakfast buffet was the best we’ve ever had. We’d definitely come back 👌

We stayed at the pension for a week with my paragliding school, and had a really good time. The Soča views from the pension and some rooms are wonderful, and you can swim in the river. Pool and whirlpool use are included. Rooms were clean, all the staff were super friendly, and the food was delicious. The three-course meals were generous, and even with our big group they served everyone at once and accommodated requests like no cheese or no fish. Thanks for the hospitality, we’ll surely be back!

The village is really cute, and we could enjoy the view from our room. We had a memorable stay here. The front desk receptionist welcomed us warmly and shared ideas for things to do nearby, and the waitress was kind and helped make the whole experience fantastic. Thank you!

For us, the location was the only thing worth visiting. We spent three nights in the main building, and I suspect the better reviews are for the newer building on the property. The rooms are old, which by itself wasn’t the issue. But there were surely 20 stinkbugs on our curtains. We know this is nature, but rooms should be checked for bugs and spiders before guests arrive. The old TV only had German channels and couldn’t connect to a phone, so if you don’t know German, forget it. There was no Wi-Fi. Breakfast was very basic, with the cheapest supermarket food and a ridiculously small selection. Staff seemed uninterested. Even a simple “How was your stay?” or “Thank you, safe trip” would have been fine. It could be a great place, but right now it isn’t.
