After walking along the Soča River, this was just right for lunch. I had the trout of the day with potatoes and spinach–walnut base. It was fresh, cooked perfectly and tasted very homemade. The setting is simple, the atmosphere authentic and the service really friendly. Highly recommended!

Right by the entrance to the Tolmin gorge, this restaurant makes a great stop after seeing the gorges. The food was amazing and the staff very nice.

The Slovenian cheese and bread with jam were really nice, though the schnitzel didn’t stand out. We initially sat at a table where nobody served us, so we moved and eventually got service. It was pretty slow, but the restaurant was full, which made that understandable. The setting itself is nice.

I found a maggot in my steak. After they took the dish to the kitchen and threw it away, they tried to convince me it was a herb. I didn’t get an apology either. At least they let me leave without paying for the meal.
