Gavalier Design Rooms

We’ve been coming to Štiavnica for years and know most of the accommodations we’ve tried, but hadn’t stayed here before. The communication and service were a pleasant surprise, as was the cafe. We had the larger suite, room 2, and found it clean with comfortable beds. A few stairs and steps put you right in the city centre, with a pleasant view of Trojičné námestie. The minibar was well equipped, and the breakfast discount at the cafe opposite was a nice bonus. We’d be happy to return.

We weren’t staying at the hotel, just came to the cafe for coffee and dessert. The lady kept taking coffee drinks out to people on the terrace in the courtyard, one by one. We waited inside for two black coffees, but they never arrived.

The rooms and interiors were top notch, and the staff were smiling. I’m taking off a star because of a mix-up about breakfast. We were first told it was included in the accommodation price, then found out at the end that it cost extra.

The location is excellent, and the cafe does great coffee and cakes. The ladies were nice at both check-in and check-out. We booked both rooms. The larger one is definitely prettier, though each is finished to a very high standard. Thick walls kept the rooms comfortable even when it was hot outside. Highly recommended!
