The bed was comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the Wi-Fi worked most of the time. Furnishings felt a bit random, and the place itself was quite basic, almost "Post Soviet Grim". There usually weren’t any staff on site. Someone showed me my room, handed over keys for it and the front door, then left me to manage on my own. Getting in touch could be difficult, and communication would likely be a real problem without Slovak, since almost none of the staff spoke English when I could reach them. It’s handy for the bus and train stations and a grocery store, but I’m not sure I’d stay again.

There’s a shared kitchen with a fridge, two tables, a sink and a gas stove, which is useful if you need to cook. Nearby, I’d recommend eating at Ristorante Familia. The guesthouse works well for a short stop while passing through, but I probably wouldn’t choose it for a longer vacation. Rooms are rather small, the standard is average, and it’s beside a quiet train line and a much busier bus station.

It’s close to the bus station and works well enough as a stop on a hike. I’d only use it if I needed a place to stay.

I tried emailing and calling the owner, then called again when I was standing outside the Pension. He hung up on me and didn’t speak any English at all. Seems like he missed out on a guest.
