Hotel Jurki Dom

The staff were really nice and spoke good English, and parking was easy. Rooms were clean, and the hotel is basic but nicely priced. It’s about a 15-minute drive to the city centre, with pretty much no public transport, though an Uber is only €5. The highway makes it a bit noisy, but the windows block most of the sound.

The toilet was placed so awkwardly in the bathroom that you couldn’t fit properly. There was just one roll of toilet paper and not a single glass for water or a drink. The WiFi was almost unusable, and the '90s CRT TV didn’t work. With no curtains, city lights shone in all night, so good luck sleeping. Nobody was at reception. You have to call a number and wait a good 40 minutes for someone to show up. I’d avoid this place at all cost.

It’s close to the Main Road and worked well for a stay of a few days. The building may not be new, but it was very clean and tidy, with comfortable beds, fresh sheets, and kitchens that were pretty well equipped. Being near the railroad makes it quite loud, though with the windows closed it wasn’t too bothersome.

We got there at 10 am, two hours before the official check-in, and were given a room without any extra fee. It’s cheap and doesn’t have a lot to offer, though there’s a restaurant and gym. The railroad beasts bang and scream in the evening, and the grocery store is 1.5 km away. Google sent us through awful industrial ruins, but there’s actually a shorter, nicer way to the hotel.
