You can get around the old district and most Bratislava sights on foot from here, and there are plenty of nearby restaurants with good prices. The rooms are roomy, comfortable, and nicely furnished, with a basic kitchen if you'd rather cook. It feels more like an apartment than a hotel, and street noise carries on late. Still, it has a charm of its own and offers good value.

Our superior room was one of the few available, and it was spacious with a decent bathroom. The little window faced the street, but noise wasn't a problem for us. Getting there means hauling your bags up 4 floors, though. Cleaning could have been better: we found lemon pips on the floor for some reason.

The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, and the location is right in the center. The trouble is the busy street below: it's extremely loud at night, the windows don't seal or shut properly, and there's no air conditioning. I wouldn't suggest it if you want peace and quiet or don't want to party until 3am. Maybe winter, with colder weather and fewer tourists, would be quieter. I had no problems with the other guests or the massage center downstairs.

The room was roomy and quiet, even with noisy bars nearby, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The old town is right outside, with everything an easy walk away. The place is dated but clean, and fine for somewhere to sleep. There's no fridge or air-conditioning, and bear in mind there are 79 steps to reception and no lift, so it's a problem if you're frail. A small refresh could make this 5*.

The reception girls were lovely and did their best to help with limited resources, but the rest was very poor. On arrival we had to ask for toilet roll, cups, tea, and coffee, though these were meant to be provided. The hotel sits above a noisy bar/massage parlour/shisha bar on the 4th floor, with no lift, so it's not suitable for people with mobility problems. Thin walls made things worse with stag parties around. It's hard to see how it has 3 star status. If there's one plus, stag parties might like it, but that's about it.
