Penzion Jarka

Finding pension Zarka the first time was a bit tricky with Google Maps. There's a narrow path just below the bridge on the left that's almost invisible, and it leads to the pension. Once there, the staff were friendly and professional, and happy to help. They even fit in my laundry right away despite the machine already working overtime. My clothes were washed and dried in an hour and a half! The buses come every 10 minutes and take around 10 minutes to reach the city center. The room had a TV and AC that worked well, and the price was very reasonable. A really nice stay and good value for the money.

We had asked Booking by email before arriving for a safe place to store our bicycles and were assured we could keep them in the room. Once there, we were told we couldn't and had to leave them in the car. The person in charge demanded cash, wouldn't take a credit card, and gave us no invoice. The staff were extremely unfriendly and rude. The breakfast was poor, the rooms dirty, and the old toilets dirty too. The mattresses were uncomfortable, and with no blinds on the windows, sunrise at 5 AM had us awake already. It wasn't a holiday, it was a nightmare. This place should be closed immediately.

My host was the highlight. He was kind and friendly, fixed my bicycle as soon as I arrived, and made me feel at home right away. We even shared a couple of beers. The place itself was clean, tidy, quiet, and inexpensive, almost too good to be true. Cheers, pal. I hope I see you again.

There's parking, and the rooms are clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom didn't have warm water, and breakfast was rather poor. The pension is in a part of the city that isn't very nice.
