The view was really nice, and the owner was pretty nice too, to be honest. Still, it wasn’t a pleasant stay. The apartment was quite dirty and the room felt stuffy. The owner lives in the same apartment with you. Before we left, we had to go to a bank and spend an hour signing a contract that wasn’t provided in English.

We wouldn’t recommend this apartment. Before leaving, we lost an hour at a bank signing a rental agreement, which was strange and something we’d never encountered before. The owner lives in the next room with no door and shares the bathroom. I couldn’t see a kitchen, and nobody showed us one. When we asked for glasses, the ones we got were dirty. The owner has a balcony with a window facing the terrace, so he could hear everything we said, especially at night. At midnight, while we were talking on the balcony, he frightened us by threatening to call the police. The room we rented had a large mirror, and the owner’s little room was right behind it on the other side, so we think it could have been a Venetian mirror.

This is basically a residential flat filled with bunk beds, not really a hostel. Fourteen or more people share one bathroom that wasn’t very clean. There’s nowhere to cook or heat food, and not even a table or desk for eating or doing anything else. Unless money is really tight, I’d look at other hotels or hostels.

We booked for 10 people, and four days beforehand he emailed asking us to pay a €600 “guaranteed risk” in advance, even though the accommodation itself cost only €100. When I called to ask if we could just pay for the stay, he laughed and told me to cancel and find somewhere else in Bratislava, since there were plenty of properties available. Thanks for ruining our days before the holiday.
