We liked this campsite so much that we added an extra day. It’s a small, friendly place on a little smallholding, with chickens, a few cats, a small dog, sheep, and pigs in the fields. It has lots of personal touches, and you can buy homemade food products and fresh eggs from the owners. The location is great for hiking. We were travelling in our campervan in the low season in March 2026, when few campsites were open. The owners welcomed us warmly and let us stay even though some facilities were closed for the season. They still provided nice toilets, showers, and washing-up facilities.

We had no trouble with anything, and the facilities and offerings were as advertised. The place itself is amazing, and I recommend a visit. I’m giving it 4 stars because the trampoline is dangerous: children fall off it often, and one of ours broke her hand. It should be fixed.

We had a great stay overall and would happily come back. There are two hiking trails starting right at the campground, and maps are in the main kitchen and bar area. The shared space also has a self-service system we hadn’t seen before: take drinks or snacks from the fridge or cupboards, record them with your name in a ledger, then pay when you leave. Prices were fair for a campsite, though not cheap. The facilities were excellent and well kept, with clean toilets, untimed showers, steady hot water, dishwashing stations, and all the usual basics. The site was fairly busy when we visited, and its size makes it especially good for families with younger kids, under 10 in particular. They can find friends quickly and run around. Much of the land is sloped, so it took us a while to find a reasonably flat tent spot, but we managed. One thing bothered us: several people played music loudly on Bluetooth speakers, which took away from the peaceful evenings in nature we enjoy. And a tip for anyone arriving tired: the huge red button with an arrow at the entrance calls the owners. We completely missed it when we arrived early in the evening.

We meant to stay one night and ended up staying for 2. It’s a lovely place to unwind, with clean facilities and a great communal area where we enjoyed meeting other travellers. There’s a kitchen, fire pit, lounge, library, good wifi, and cold drinks on an honesty box system. The owners have put a lot of work into making the site enjoyable. Children can get close to the farm animals and use the adventure playground. We’d recommend the place to others and would definitely stay again. Booking ahead is a good idea.

We had a lovely stay, thanks to the owners, who were often around chatting with guests. The family-run campsite has house cats, a dog, and chickens wandering about, and its shared space is lovely. Expect to cross paths with other guests while cooking or doing the dishes. There’s a trusting, eco-minded approach: enjoy the local products, write down what you use, and leave warm water in the showers for others too.
