The owners were easy to deal with, explained everything, and were ready to help if anything came up. The cottage was clean and cozy, in a quiet spot with parking. There’s room for a big family, with a large four-bed room, a smaller two-bed room, and extra sleeping spaces in the connecting room. We had a great stay at Šafrán.

After I posted feedback on Hauzi.sk, the owner accused me of damaging the old sofa bed and deck chair, and of taking ashtrays. We hadn’t unfolded the couch or used the sunbeds, and hadn’t noticed any damage to the sofa leg. The photo the owner took while using it shows the leg needed to unfold it was missing. Later, he messaged me on WhatsApp to say he’d “found” the ashtrays and suggested we both remove our negative comments. When I wouldn’t agree, he threatened legal action. I’ve kept the WhatsApp and Gmail messages in case they’re needed. I find that conduct unacceptable. The stay was already problematic from the start. For an off-season 2025 booking, the portal showed €135 per night, but the owner initially tried to charge €150. He changed it to the advertised price only after I pointed this out. He also took cash on arrival without giving a receipt, and didn’t ask for the ID documents required for guest registration.

There’s lots of room, and the tiled stove gives the place a warm, cozy feel. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked, even with basic groceries, coffee, and tea, so even picky holiday guests should find what they need. Clean and atmospheric too. I recommend it.
