Hotel CITY **** Galanta

The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were kind and helpful. I felt really comfortable and would happily stay again. Hotel City Galanta is about a five-minute walk from the train station and close to the city center. The room was spacious, clean, and nicely scented, with a lovely bathroom and a tropical rain shower. The bed and linens were great, and I was pleasantly surprised to find mineral water and tissues in the room. I recommend it :)

We waited two days for an answer to our booking inquiry, only to be told by email that the hotel was full. When I called reception after the first 24 hours, the receptionist said it wasn't her fault and that I had to wait. The whole process was a great example of poor service. On our previous stay, there were also out-of-date items in the minibar. A shock and a disgrace for the Slovak hotel industry.

My family had traveled 900 km from Germany after I booked them a room, but when they arrived the hotel was locked and nobody was there. I called, and the arrogant Mr. Danko, who I assume is the owner, said they were closed and he'd forgotten to tell me. He acted as if this sort of thing just happens, and did nothing to put it right. That's incredible amateurism. Avoid the hotel and Mr. Danko. You'd be better off sleeping on a bench for free, at least nobody will shut it down without telling you. The hotel and owner are rubbish. Friends who know Mr. Danko personally told me this is how he usually behaves. I've never heard anyone say anything good about him.

The place has the feel of a classic hotel. The service is always friendly and helpful. I come here only for lunch: the food used to be good, then they focused only on the Korean menu. They've expanded the menu again now, though prices are higher.
