The room was large and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good range of choices. The location was excellent, right in the old town and only a few minutes from the main old town street, with lots of restaurants and cafeterias nearby. Onsite parking was secured and closed for the night, and paid, which mattered to us.

We got a whole apartment, with huge, clean rooms, and the ladies on staff were lovely and helped us with everything. Parking wasn’t expensive, but they should mention the charge at check-in. I could have parked outside for free, and no one told me. Breakfast could’ve been better too: the orange juice and eggs were a huge letdown. Everything else was OK.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel because of the service. The receptionist doesn’t explain all the parking rules, so be prepared for a fine of 15 to 50 euros. That can really spoil your stay in Kosice.

It was lovely to have the air conditioning running when we entered the room, especially with how hot it was outside. But the staff lady quickly switched it off and said the remote control cost 5 euros a day. It felt like a rip off, since staying even remotely comfortably without air conditioning wasn’t an option. They’d be better off dropping the free breakfast, which had stale bread and cold items, and letting guests use the air conditioning for free. The bathroom was disappointing too: the toilet seat was too small, and the shower hose snapped while I was showering. When I told staff, they didn’t seem to care. The bed making was careless as well, with the sheet too small to cover the whole mattress. The location, though, was great: quiet, but very close to both the city center and the trainstation. Kosice really comes alive at night, with lights, terraces, and live music. Life hackers, if you don’t want to pay for the air conditioning, look up the manual and figure out the rest yourself ;)
