We could leave the car in the garage while we explored the city, thanks to the very nice receptionist. The old city is just a short walk away, and it's really picturesque.

I was very disappointed that the receptionist wouldn't let me park my motorcycle in the hotel lot, even though there was plenty of room for one bike. That felt like a poor attitude toward hospitality.

Košice is marvelous, and I loved Slovakia too. At the hotel, the staff were extremely friendly, the rooms spacious, clean, and functional, and breakfast was really good and filling. I loved everything about my stay.

The shopping center is right across from the hotel, which sits at the edge of the old town in an amazing location. My room was large, with a pretty big bathroom, and the AC was a real help in the heat. They have private parking, plus street parking out front. Lenka at reception, if I've got her name right, did everything she could to make our stay pleasant. Breakfast was delicious, and the hotel had everything we needed.

I still keep up the morning coffee tradition in central Košice. Back in the 90s, we'd meet at hotel Slovan, but these days it's Gloria Palace. Whenever I'm in Košice, I start my day with coffee here.
