TeleDom Hotel

A lovely, quiet hotel close to the old town. Our room was very clean, and the bathroom had both a bath and a separate large shower. We’d stay here again when we next visit Kosice.

The rooms and bathrooms are a good size. They could use a thorough clean and a repaint. It’s not bad, but could be better. You hardly hear anything from outside apart from the crazy bikers, yet the noisy mini fridge and bathroom extractor are disturbing from inside.

The location is great, with an easy walk to the main square and its bars, coffee shops and restaurants. The hotel has some drawbacks, though. The onsite restaurant cooks throughout the day, and smells of soup, goulash or stew spread through the building. Reception is supposed to be open 24 hours, if someone’s there, and they have snacks and drinks. The corridor to the rooms has no lights, so watch your step at night. The rooms are large and have their own bathrooms, but they’re getting shabby. The curtains look like someone cut them shorter because they were too long, and now the edges are fraying. Our room faced the road and was noisy, so we couldn’t have the window open. We stayed four nights and the room wasn’t cleaned, even though I asked reception to do it. The bathroom toiletries could be better too: there was shower gel and a bar of soap, but no shampoo. Breakfast costs 7€ and has to be booked the night before. I didn’t try it, so can’t comment on it. The walls are thin, and you can hear the neighbors, especially when they’re doing stuff!!!!!!

The bed and bathroom were really nice, and I enjoyed the breakfast too, with fresh bakery and more. The room itself was basic and old-fashioned. If you don’t expect much from a room, it’s a good choice because of the rear down town.
