The restaurant is a really nice place, and the staff are very kind. I especially like how flexible they are with the daily menu: they’ll change the sides or use a different ingredient if you ask.

I paid €60 a night midweek in the off-season, which felt like daylight robbery. The photos on Booking.com don’t match what we found, and the terrace and garden were cluttered and unusable. The staff were kind and the location was good, but those were the positives. The place badly needs renovation: things are outdated, many need repairs, and damage to the walls was visible in both the room and bathroom. At first everything looked clean, but a closer look showed the cleaning was superficial. There were holes in the bedsheets, and the towels were almost as rough as sandpaper. The water never got hot, only warm enough for brushing teeth. There were cats wandering freely, including in the dining area. That’s a hygiene and safety concern, and a problem for anyone with a cat allergy. The owners encourage them by putting food bowls around the property. The TV was just decoration, with no signal or connection. Staff spoke no English at all, not even the younger ones. Breakfast ran from 7 to 9 a.m., and the smell of boiled sausages reached our upstairs room. I don’t like waking up to that.

After a full day of travel, we couldn’t even get a hot shower, and we left the next day. We had paid upfront for all ten booked days before seeing the room. The owner had kindly prepared it for my little boy, but we then noticed mould up the walls and very old furniture that was falling apart. The place is run down, and we were the only guests there that night. Even the owner lives on site. At midnight I had to find another hotel. We asked politely for our money back, and the owner’s husband said we were lucky to get anything, since they could have kept it all. We paid for the night and another €100 for leaving. After taking that money, she also wanted us to cancel the online reservation for an extra €49. Hygiene and service were very poor. Don’t waste your time. I wouldn’t be surprised if the place closes in the next few months.

The restaurant has a relaxed feel and is nicely decorated both inside and out. The staff are friendly, and the menu is excellent for the price, with a starter, main course and dessert.
