Really great.

The location worked well, and the hotel is fine for a night, but I wouldn't choose it for a week. Our experience with the landlady was poor. We'd arranged half board in advance, then she cancelled it at the last minute and pointed to conditions about the shared kitchen, which everyone uses unless they're in the most expensive luxury apartment. It felt like cooking in a dorm. She also came across as unpleasant and tired, and communicating with her was hard.

Thankfully, some kind people helped us find a place to stay. I'd phoned the Pension on Thursday to book a three-bed room and gave all the details. But when I called again Friday around 6:30 p.m. from Liptovský Mikuláš station, with my 9-year-old daughter beside me, the owner asked why I was calling and said she had no record of me. Finding somewhere before the weekend at that hour was stressful. I suppose she may have wanted a two-night booking, which didn't seem like enough.

I couldn't get a Wi-Fi signal, despite it being advertised, and the room lighting was so weak I kept using my phone to see. The broken blinds only blocked about 65% of the sun, while the shower had no door and left the bathroom floor flooded after each use. Doors, handles and hinges all squeaked too, which got irritating. These may sound like small issues, but they bothered me quite a bit. The guesthouse itself is in pleasant surroundings near the Aquapark, and the hosts were good. I didn't get to try the food. It could be fine if you're out early and only come back at night.
