What stood out most was how kind, open and helpful the hosts were. It’s a calm, peaceful place, with a clean, well-equipped house. There’s parking, a terrace facing the Tatra Mountains, a big yard with activities for children, and a covered barbecue area. The train station is nearby. I hope I can come back.

We spent two lovely weeks with Ms. Tatiana and her husband in late July and early August 2018, in a very spacious, clean, well-kept apartment. The owners were friendly and ready to help or offer advice, though we didn’t keep them for long. The terrace was a highlight: it opened straight off the main living area and had a table and six chairs. We often ate there in the evenings, looking toward Sławkowski Peak or Łomnica. Inside, the apartment had three double bedrooms, two with double beds and one with two single beds. The open-plan area included a well-equipped kitchenette with a two-burner induction hob, refrigerator, toaster, sink, cookware, dishes, glasses and tableware. There was also a dining table with a bench and four chairs, plus a sitting area with a bench, sofa, two armchairs and TV. The bathroom was very spacious, with a shower and two sinks, and the toilet was separate. Downstairs there was a shoe cabinet and racks for skis and boots with a dryer, though we didn’t use them. Beside the apartment was a grassy courtyard and small playground, handy if a child needed something after a hike. A small local pizzeria a few minutes away had excellent pizza and opened at 3:00 PM. A well-stocked self-service COOP shop was a little farther along. Nowa Leśna’s electric train station was about a 20-minute walk away, with trains running hourly between Poprad, Tatranská Lomnica and Strebské Pleso. The connections at Starý Smokovec were well timed too, with trains from Poprad, Strebská Pleso and Tatranská Lomnica all stopping there for seven minutes, so it was easy to transfer without rushing. Tickets were €1-€2 depending on distance, €14 for a week and €16 for a month. You couldn’t buy tickets at the Nowa Lesna stop. We highly recommend the Privat 505 apartment for its convenient location, views, space, cleanliness and comfort, and especially for its owners.

We were really happy with our stay, just as the reviews below had led us to expect. The studio was tastefully furnished, comfortable and meticulously clean, with a well-equipped kitchenette and a terrace overlooking a breathtaking panorama of the High Tatras. Parking in the yard felt safe and easy, and the quiet location had no traffic. The owners were lovely people who helped us with everything. There’s a spacious garden with climbing frames and toys for children, as well as a gazebo where you can grill. Even little touches made us smile, like the board game "Do you know the Tatras" in the studio, which we enjoyed playing in the evenings. It felt like the host had really tried to make guests comfortable. Thank you for a beautiful holiday, you played a big part in it. We’re looking forward to coming back. If these uncertain times over the past few years hadn’t been a factor, we would have booked next summer before leaving.

The hosts were welcoming and helpful, and the accommodation was child-friendly. We had clean rooms in a beautiful house, with stunning views. Everything was perfect, and we’ll definitely return.
