Hotel Magnólia

The hotel’s in a good spot in the town centre, beside the river Vah and near Colonnaded bridge (Kolonadovy most). Parking in front isn’t guaranteed, as the website says, though I was lucky enough to get a space. The indoor pool was included in the price, but not the sauna or whirlpool. I’d expect those to be included at a four-star hotel, and the website doesn’t make the extra cost clear. Reception can tell you about a discount, 10% when I wrote this, for Thai massages just outside the hotel. The rooms and food are covered below. It’s a nice hotel, but some updating and including all the wellness facilities in the price would make it feel more deserving of four stars.

We had a river view from our room, and the location was good. The service and food were very good too, as was the hotel overall. Parking costs extra and spaces are limited. The hotel suggests places to park, but they all charge. Even so, I’d say it’s worth a visit.

The river view was beautiful, and the location was good. The rooms were practical but didn’t feel fancy enough for a four-star hotel. Checkout at 10 am is far too early, though they were flexible about late checkout.

I liked the place a lot, and the staff were very nice. I did notice a couple of things that could be improved. The carpet needs more than just vacuuming: after walking barefoot, my feet got dirty pretty quickly, maybe because people wear their outdoor shoes around the room. Window screens would also let guests keep the windows open without worrying about mosquitoes and the like.
