Penziã³n Daniela

We had a wonderful stay at Penzion Daniela in the summer of 2016. We arrived at 11 at night without a reservation, and they took us in. They even brought a warm glass of milk for our toddler. The next morning, we had an amazing breakfast included, downstairs in their restaurant. The rooms and bathroom were modern, clean, and tastefully furnished. The place is in one of the most beautiful parts of Slovakia, and the price was very reasonable. We’ll come visit again and stay even longer next time.

We visited this restaurant a few times while staying at Hotel Aphrodite. The earlier visits went well, but the last one was a bad experience. No one told us in advance that their card terminal was out of order. We had only a few euros on us and not enough to pay, so we politely asked about another way to settle the bill. It was already late and dark, and we planned to have lunch there the next day, so we hoped to pay then. The manager’s manner changed at that point. She snapped at us and was rude and impolite. That’s not what I’d expect from a place that values its customers and wants them to return. We had to go out to find an ATM and then come back. There was no apology for the inconvenience, no discount, nothing. When we raised the issue while paying and said we wouldn’t return because of her behavior, she said that was no problem. Thanks very much. The one star is for the sweet dumplings, which we really liked.

We had a special dinner booked, and it was amazing. Lunch there was great too, and the food was very good. The service was friendly and helpful. We stayed at the restaurant until night and had a lot of fun.

A spacious room, a nice breakfast, and friendly staff. The location is good too, basically across the street from the famous Aphrodite Spa.
