The breakfast was just a box with ham, cheese, half an egg, and a few tomato and cucumber slices. In the bathroom there was mold and a broken hanger, while the wardrobe was broken too and the TV didn’t work. The rooms were dirty, with stains on the carpet and walls, and no sign of when they’d last been renovated. We had two large suitcases and found there was no lift, so we had to carry them up the stairs. The reception staff didn’t speak English. I don’t think this deserves a four-star rating. Maybe it did back in the ’90s, but certainly not now. Very disappointed.

The staff were brilliant, especially Micheal the barmen, who was a pleasure throughout our stay. He gave us advice on places to visit and things to do. We also really enjoyed the restaurant food. It made a great base for exploring eastern Slovakia.

The room wasn’t luxurious, but it was functional, safe, and a nice place to return to after time out in town. The location is perfectly close to the airport. I’d recommend dinner and drinks at the hotel, but for breakfast, bring your own or head out.

There’s a parking area, and breakfast comes with the price. The dining room is spacious, and the bar feels very cozy. It’s a hotel dedicated to Napoleon, about five minutes by car from the center and ten from the airport. The rooms are in the attic on the first floor.

I’m on day 5 of 13, and the cans left by the previous guest are still in my room. There were three empty drink cans on day one, when there was no beer. On day two, the room was full of ants, even though it’s winter, and the cans were still there. Days three and four brought good beer and food, but the cans remained. On day five there was no beer again, and the cans were still there. There are definite beer and cleanliness issues, and I’m not looking forward to the weekend here.
