Apartmány Puerto

The outdoor seating in the shade was lovely, and it’s just a few steps to the water. You can park beside the apartments, though I was surprised there was an extra charge. The accommodation isn’t cheap, so paying for parking on top of that was a bit much. Don’t expect cleaning during your stay, unless perhaps you arrange it with the Relax hotel, which manages the apartments. Our family room was for 5+1, but it wasn’t really ideal for four adults and two kids. The top bunk in particular felt downright dangerous. The kitchenette was fairly well equipped, though we only used it to boil water for coffee and tea. Air conditioning was a big help on hot days. It’s probably standard here, because it really gets hot. One warning, there’s a Bermuda gang around stealing men’s shorts. I lost two and my neighbor lost one, so better bring your clothes in from the hangers at night.

The room had a double bathtub with massage jets, which was great, but taking a shower was awful. The water drained at about 1l per 1 hour, the hose sprayed in every direction, and there was nothing there to stop the water from going everywhere. For three people staying six days, they provided only 3 pieces of toilet paper. The waste bin was like one for a children's house, and its bags were from Kaufland. I was there on 07/24 and booked based on the website saying parking was free. The room wasn’t the one I’d booked, and reception at the Relax hotel immediately wanted 5 EUR per day for parking. It’s not a terrible price, but it’s the principle. At the entrance to the area there’s a ramp that you only find out about once you get there. I’d driven through three times after showing my card without trouble, but around +/- 9 pm the "black comedian" told me he wouldn’t let me in and that I had to use the second gate. Which one? Nobody from RELAX had warned me or explained how it worked or where that gate was. When leaving, they normally ask if you were satisfied, but nobody did that here. SUPPORT SLOVAK TOURISM, never again.

Puerto had a fridge, air conditioning, a new cooker, dishes, a microwave, a TV and other basics. There was also a covered place to sit outside by the apartment, and the accommodation itself was relatively OK. Cleanliness and housekeeping bring it down to 3 stars for me. It seems to get cleaned where you can see, but you hope nothing falls behind the bed because then you’d have to move it. A proper clean once in a while would be enough, since that kind of dirt doesn’t build up in a day. New sheets would improve the look too. The toilet seat wasn’t in good condition either.

The food was great, and the beach and lake are beautiful, though they aren’t part of Puerto Apartments. The room was a big disappointment, just terrible. It was tiny, about 3x3 meters, and felt like a hospital room, except a hospital gives you a cup and, of course, soap. There was nothing here. The towels and sink were dirty, and dirty laundry sat on the floor right by the entrance the whole time. The refrigerator rattled all day and at night too, unless you switched it off.
