Tatranska Lomnica is a small, cozy, clean town, and getting around is easy because everything is close. The hotel is handy for the train station, but the quiet electric train didn’t bother us. There’s an ATM, bistro, and supermarket in the hotel, though the shop closes at 6:45 PM. Check-in and check-out are online and straightforward. The hotel occupies the second and third floors, so you have to use the stairs. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the ski lifts. The views from Lomnicky Peak, or at least Scalnate Pleso, are breathtaking, and the air feels magical. There’s even a fox that wanders around and comes right up to people. Most cafes open around 10-11 AM, and the small shops shut early. Our room was spacious, with high ceilings, a large comfortable double bed, a sofa, two armchairs, a small table, glasses, and a small wardrobe. The pillows were very flat. They worked for me, but someone else might find them inadequate. You can rent a kettle for 5 euros for your stay. Large windows face another hotel, so thicker curtains would be nice. There’s no air conditioning, but we didn’t need it at this time of year. The bathroom has towels and soap, a large bathtub, and a separate toilet, which was convenient. A rug would be nice because the floor is cold under bare feet. Free check-in is only from 6:00 PM, which is inconvenient. Our train was delayed, but the receptionist waited without charging extra, thank you! Payment is in cash, although the description mentions card payment. A refrigerator and kettle in the room would be helpful. Overall, it wasn’t bad.
