APLEND Hotel Kukucka

I liked the stay in the end. We had an apartment in building B for a few days, with a bedroom, living room, kitchen corner and balcony. It was spacious, quiet and well equipped, including the kitchen and two TVs. The folding bed I slept on wasn't ideal, but was reasonably comfortable. We struggled to set it up because there were no instructions, and some of its tubes were already bent, so I doubt we were the first to find it tricky. Getting the TVs working also took a while since the channels weren't tuned and there was no manual. Later in the evening, the parking by our building filled up, so we had to find a space on the entrance road. Breakfast was decent, but I thought it was pricey for something that wasn't especially memorable. Since we had a kitchen corner, we ended up making our own.

The bathroom light was our one real complaint. It seemed the fixture above the sink had a burned-out bulb, and although we asked for it to be fixed, nobody did so during our stay. The breakfast buffet was good, though it was crowded on Saturday morning. On the other mornings we got a table right away. We also enjoyed the free session at the Wellness Center. It would have been handy to have a washing machine in the unit, though maybe some other units have one. We were told the laundromat was in the next town. Our three nights were comfortable: the unit was cozy, very clean and quiet, with a lovely balcony and view, and the kitchen had the essentials. The train station, supermarket, restaurants, hiking trails and ski lifts were all walkable, about 5-10 minutes away. We'd stay here again if we came back to the area.

The ski pistes are in a great spot, but the beds were very uncomfortable. Some of the hotel staff, especially in the restaurant, were quite unfriendly.

The rooms and location were fine, but the service felt unfriendly, and the reception team was rather cold. Breakfast can mean a wait, since the room often doesn't fit everyone at once. Prices may be too high depending on the season. I'd book online.
