Hotel Tatry

We came for the restaurant and ski rental. At the rental shop, the staff were friendly and helpful, and could speak some English. Prices were fair, though service was a bit slow, so allow time. The restaurant was a different experience. Our food came quickly, but the waiter wasn't very helpful and couldn't speak English or any language besides Slovak. The garlic soup was too watery, and one of us got non-alcoholic beer instead of regular. The halusky was great, though, and that's what I'd suggest ordering.

We stayed one night, and it did the job. When we arrived, nobody was there, so we had to call a number just to get the door to the house opened. The people were moderately nice.

There was a good range of dishes, including vegetarian choices. The garlic soup with sheep cheese, roasted vegetables, and sweet potato fries were tasty. Fresh ginger tea was excellent, and the white hot chocolate was good too. Fresh food, a nice atmosphere, and good service.

We ended up eating at the restaurant downstairs every day because the food was good. The hotel is nice and worth the money, though the walls between rooms are rather thin. On our last day, they forgot parts of our order, probably because the restaurant was busier than usual.
