Hotel pod Sokolím

The view is genuinely breathtaking, but this isn’t a comfortable place to stay. Food choices are limited, and the rooms have an old-fashioned style. The bathrooms were clean, but tiny and very old. Wifi is poor and doesn’t reach the rooms, so you’ll need cellular data. The ceilings on the second floor are low enough that bumping your head when you get up is inevitable.

You get a smile and a good feeling throughout the hotel, and the staff and management will go out of their way to help with whatever you need. It’s a 2 star hotel with 5 star service. It isn’t fancy or the Hilton, but it has everything you need in Vratna and more. I can’t say anything bad about it: you get what you want, and they go above and beyond. Expect nothing, and somehow you get everything. PAP (POSITIVE ATTRACTS POSITIVE)!

The only reason to stay here is that there’s no other accommodation available nearby. Service was very bad, and the hotel itself was terrible. The accommodation is basic and touristic, with a toilet and shower in poor condition. The restaurant closes at 10pm and won’t take orders after 9:30. Prices are relatively high compared with other hotels, especially given the kitchen’s low quality, and half the menu wasn’t available. Wi-fi doesn’t reach the rooms. Breakfast was included and meant to start at 8am, but by 8:14 there was nothing left. Bringing a dog costs 11 eur (???). We also got no bill for the room. They wanted cash, and I hope they pay their taxes...

The surroundings are beautiful, and the nature is lovely. Rooms have TVs and the bathroom was clean, but there are no fridges. Breakfast was tasty. We couldn’t have dinner because there were many visitors at the time.
