Penzion Muran

The landscape here was a real surprise, with green hills and narrow canyons that are great for hiking. On a cool August evening, we sat on the terrace after dinner as a little rain came through and the sun went down. The valley was a welcome break from the sweltering heat we'd had at the start of our trip. We arrived in the evening just in time for a hearty meal. The owner's son checked us in and served us, though he seemed like he would rather be somewhere else. The rest of the family were lovely, and I honestly have no other complaints. A great place for a few days, and I'd recommend it.

The room was comfortable and tidy, and had a huge balcony with a view. We missed breakfast, so I can't say how it tasted, but they told us they could adjust it to our dietary habits. The staff were friendly and helpful, and even opened the hotel after check-in time for us. When we're next in Štefanová, we'll stay here again.

The views and surroundings are extraordinary, and the hotel has a lovely atmosphere. Our rooms were clean and nice, and they gladly brought an extra bed for our two children. It was also a very good price. There aren't any shops nearby, though, and the town center is 4.5 km away. We're definitely coming back in summer, and I'd recommend it to anyone after a pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings.

Such a cozy, lovely place, and the staff were really kind and chatty. The whole place has paintings and art by a Slovak artist, though I’m sorry I can’t remember the name. As an amateur painter, I especially loved the sweet, children's book style illustrations. They feel like they give your soul a hug. It's close to the hiking paths, so you don't have to travel far to get out walking. If you visit, Rozsutec mountain is a must!
