Hotel Panorama

I found the room simple and elegant, with a comfortable amount of space that never felt cramped. Both the living area and bathroom were extremely clean, which matters a lot to me on business trips. It was quiet all night, and the excellent soundproofing helped me rest after a long-haul flight and jet lag. In the morning I opened the window to a simple, lovely view, with birds singing all around. I'm heading out for breakfast now. I think this is an excellent choice for a business trip, and I'd highly recommend it.

I picked this hotel by chance because I hadn't noticed it wasn't in Trenčín, the city I was visiting. It's about 20 minutes down the road. But Trencianske Teplice turned out to be beautiful, with a real laid-back holiday feel. It seemed to attract Slovakians without feeling touristy or charging tourist prices. The receptionists were lovely and helped me figure out some of the hotel's quirks. My room was spacious and clean, so I'd definitely recommend staying here. One thing about Slovakian hotels: they often push two single beds together, make them up as singles, and call it a king or double. It's such a nuisance. Even if the listing says king bed, it isn't really.

The restaurant serves good food, the service is nice, and the prices are fair.

The buffet was only average, and there isn't a proper restaurant. Our room was clean when we arrived, but after that they only made the bed. The minibar was empty, and our private jacuzzi time came with a strong mold smell and no refreshments, either there or by the pool. The place also has no panorama, and the name and star rating set expectations it doesn't meet. If you're looking for a real four-star hotel, you'll be disappointed. Through a discount site, though, it may feel worth what you paid.
