Hotel Slovan

We were pleasantly surprised by the service, attention to detail, food selection, and general cleanliness during our three summer nights at the Slovak Hotel. It's close to the hiking trails, and we're looking forward to staying again when we're back in Slovakia. The staff were truly great. I also want to mention the hotel director, Mr. V. Tomas, and operations manager Mrs. Ingrid, who made sure our stay was so pleasant. Kudos to everyone!

Everything was really nice, though you can tell the hotel isn't in the best condition, which is probably reflected in its three-star rating. The steam sauna looks good but barely produces steam, so it misses the whole point. Table football and billiards are worn out too.

The food is extremely good, with breakfast and dinner served buffet-style so you can eat as much as you like. The pool is big enough for a break from skiing and very warm, and there's plenty of parking. You can also play billiards, table tennis, or table football. The hotel itself is great, but the ski resort's slopes weren't great. They got messy very early, around 12, and in 2024 they weren't prepared well.

For a three-star place, the pool and sauna were good and the hotel itself was great. The meal times were the problem. Dinner ends before 8 pm, so after a long mountain hike there's no way to eat. Breakfast at 7:30 is also too late when hikes start much earlier. I had to miss meals that were included in my booking. I knew I'd be an hour late and asked what could be done, but got only “sorry, can't help ya,” with no other option or refund. Not cool, Hotel Slovan. In summer, you should understand that your customers are mountain hikers.
