Pension Almada

The restaurant music was very loud, and it could disturb you if you’re trying to rest in your room. We came to reception and asked whether there were rooms available, and there were. We wanted to see a room for 60 euro, but the receptionist said she was too busy to show us. That didn’t feel very welcoming, so we chose another hotel in the city.

It’s an easy walk to the city center, or three bus stops, and there’s a Kaufland shopping place nearby. I found it a lovely place for dinner or just a drink, and some evenings they have bands playing in the bar. The staff, from waiters to receptionist, were kind and helpful. For a two-star pension, the rooms are cozy and clean, and parking is included. It’s generally quiet, though you may hear the frogs making a racket at night now and then. I had a very positive experience.

It’s a cozy, pleasant place, and the staff were kind and did their best, even though we had a bit of a disagreement about vegan food. The center is farther away than you might expect, but you can still manage the walk.

The bar has the basics, the prices seem fair, and the reception is open at good hours. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is comfortable and cozy, and well located. It isn’t luxurious, but I didn’t feel it was missing anything. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Zvolen for the first time.
