We had a great stay. The price was good, the view was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was included, and my boyfriend especially enjoyed it. We also ate at the restaurant and loved the food, especially the tagliere Sammarinese and the Bis a scelta, with tortelli pasticciati and passatelli fonduta e tartufa. In the morning, we hiked up from Borgo Maggiore to the three towers and San Marino city. It was a nice chance to explore the area. At dinner, we asked for two orders of the bis because we hadn’t eaten much while traveling. The host suggested waiting until after the antipasto and primi to see how hungry we still were. Once we’d finished the primi, another waitress firmly said we couldn’t order it. The host confirmed we could after checking with her. That was a bit odd, but the food and overnight stay were great.

It’s a cozy place, and the pizza I had was superb. Book dinner ahead, since it can get crowded. The hotel is just around the corner from the cable car up the mountain. My room was clean and had enough towels. There was a TV, which I didn’t use, and the hotel wifi worked very well. A decent spot for the night. With slightly nicer rooms, I might have given it five stars; as it stands, I’d rate it between four and five.

If you want a peaceful rest, stay away. Our room was above the restaurant, and we could hear everything downstairs clearly late into the night. Whenever someone laughed, we woke up. We can’t say anything about the food because we didn’t even try the paid breakfast. We just wanted to get out as soon as possible. The toilet smell was unbearable, and combined with the noise it made staying there impossible. I understand the hosts want to earn more, but offering accommodation in these conditions is unacceptable. My advice is to focus on running the restaurant.
