Hotel Rossi

The place feels worn and dreary, and the Wi-Fi was painfully slow. The bed was rock hard, too. Rooms get hot and stuffy because there’s no fan, and although there’s a choice of hot or cold air, they wouldn’t turn on the cold air even when it was well into the twenties outside. They told us to open the window, but it was warm out and the hotel is on a loud, busy street. Don’t stay here.

The room smelled strongly of mildew and sewage, and opening the window didn’t make it better. Noise came through the poor soundproofing, and the toilet kept running after each flush. At reception in the morning, the receptionist wouldn’t speak English and kept trying to speak Russian to us. I also heard disrespectful remarks about Ukraine, which I find unacceptable in the current context. The stay fell short of the positive reviews, and I can’t recommend this hotel.

The staff were super friendly and always happy to have a chat. My room had a sea view, and the hotel is right on the main road, easy to spot. Breakfast was standard continental fare. Things are a bit dated, and the elevator felt scary: it drops a few centimeters when you step in, even though I’m a normal weight.

We felt right at home, thanks to the wonderful service. The receptionist was amazing and gave us accurate advice as tourists from Australia. Nothing seemed too difficult, and the staff were attentive to what we needed. We had a balcony with a panoramic view of the castle xxxx, and the clean room had a comfy bed, bar fridge, and hygiene products. The restaurant served delicious, authentic Italian food with service that felt five star. Thanks for everything. Love Tony and Bel from Adelaide xxx
