Azalai Hotel Dakar

The hotel felt luxurious and was very secure, with lots of security staff. I also used the spa for an extra charge, buying the one hour pass for the sauna, hammam, and jacuzzi. It was great. My husband and I stayed two nights at the azalaï hotel in Dakar in January, and we loved the trip. The premises were in excellent condition, and the service and food were amazing. From the start, we felt looked after. Someone opened our taxi door, then another staff member took us to our room, explained how the TV worked, and gave us useful information and phone numbers. I can't remember his name, but he was very helpful. Moussa checked us in and was especially helpful with the WiFi. Our room was spacious, with a lovely ocean view from the balcony, a great walk-in shower, and a comfortable bed. We slept well. The gym was clean and had everything you need. The infinity pool was lovely, with lifeguards, and the big screen showing football was a nice touch. Aziz at the bar was attentive, and Kevin was a great waiter. At dinner, Elhadji, Fatima, and Turpin looked after us and made the stay special. Breakfast had everything, from savoury to sweet, and Awa made sure we had a good meal. The egg station offered omelettes, fried eggs, and other egg dishes, made by the lady working there. I highly recommend it.

My stay was excellent because of the staff. We needed a taxi and some help with the language, and they sorted it out. When we called back later for help with a small emergency, they came through again. Special thanks to the two people mentioned above.

I spent four days here for a wedding and had a great stay. The hotel was super clean, and the food and service were great. The staff are so polite and happy to help with anything. Special thanks to Founaka for being kind and helping me sort out an issue. Thanks, Azalai team. I really recommend it!

Don't exchange money at this hotel. I was scammed inside the lobby, and when I reported it, the staff said they weren't liable even though it happened right there. The manager was suddenly unavailable when I asked to speak with them. I left without my money and got no support from management. It's awful to be scammed in a place you've paid for and expect to feel safe. Extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
